Glossary

Short definitions of terms you'll see in Linkchime.

Campaign — A group of links that share the same UTM campaign tag. Campaigns appear on the Campaigns page and in Insights.

Conversion — A completed action you track on your website (such as a sign-up or purchase), measured with a tracking pixel on your thank-you page.

Conversion goal — A named conversion you set up on a link. Each goal has a unique tracking pixel URL.

Custom domain — Your own hostname (for example links.yourcompany.com) used for short links instead of the default platform domain.

Continuity Mode — A live copy of eligible custom-domain redirects in a Cloudflare account you control. Visitors are redirected by your Worker and KV, not by Linkchime.

Lifeboat — A ZIP backup of Continuity redirects (JSON, CSV, README, checksums) with no secrets.

Destination URL — The full web address where visitors land after clicking your short link.

Draft — A link that has been started but not yet published. Draft short URLs are not live until you publish.

Drop mode — A named launch on a short link: optional post studio, themed images, live clicks, a sold-out visitor page, and a recap card you can restart.

Insights — Analytics for your workspace or individual links: clicks, traffic sources, geography, conversions, and live activity.

Landing page — A link-in-bio style page with a profile, links, and buttons. Published at a URL like /l/your-page.

Short link — A shortened URL that redirects visitors to your destination. Also called a short URL.

Slug / custom path — The part after the domain in a short link (for example /summer-sale).

UTM tags — Parameters added to URLs (source, medium, campaign, term, content) so Insights can show where traffic came from.

URL Cloak — Keeps your short link in the browser address bar while showing the destination content.

Advanced cloak — Proxies the destination through your custom domain for stronger cloaking. Requires a verified custom domain.

Workspace — A space that holds your links, domains, landing pages, and analytics. You can have multiple workspaces for different brands or projects.

Workspace owner — The person who created the workspace. Only the owner can change certain settings, invite members, and manage API keys.

Member — A workspace role with read and write access to links and other content.

Analyst — A workspace role with read-only access. Analysts can view links and Insights but cannot create or edit.
